Last year in Oahu, a mama and baby Hawaiian monk seal were taking up residence in the waters and beach near our hotel. This is the baby on his first night without mama, he was about the age she would leave him alone, so she probably did not come back. It was our last night there, felt so lucky to witness this and see them all week, as an animal lover it was really amazing to get to see them so much during our time there.
