Today an 11 year old boy came into my store and asked if I could show him how to apply eyeshadow. I let him pick a palette, I did one side and he did the other. He was so happy. After we were done his grandfather came in, looked at him, and for a brief moment I felt panicked. I could see it on the kid's face too. Then that man said, "It looks good! I like the purple!" We all had the biggest smiles. That's how to be a positive influence in a kid's life. That's how to nurture creativity. That's how to build and not break a kid's self esteem.
