Jovanoviteln Id This field of daffodils in the neighboring town of Redding, Conn., has a touching story behind it. A retired high school teacher named Bud McQuade began planting daffodils on his property to honor his wife's memory. He planted more bulbs every year and eventually members of the community pitched in to help. When he died two years ago at the age of 103, a neighboring property owner bought the land to preserve the field and opened it for the community's enjoyment. There are now reportedly some 50,000 daffodils that stretch as far as the eye can see. So inspiring!
