brittlongoria : Namibia Piace a olafbullwinkel e altre persone brittlongoria To stand in awe of the wilderness is a great feeling, indeed, but to do so kneeling beside a wise and majestic animal whom you've taken is an entirely separate dimension of humanity that is only understood when experienced. This is not a sport nor a game, this is the practice of being human and participating in the cycles of nature. The moment after a clean, ethical harvest is the culmination of months of training in the gym; meditating on anatomy and studying shot placement; practice on the rifle or bow range; long, painful days and short, fitful nights. The tourist may remember the view, but the hunter will relish this moment each time we prepare the meat for our family, thumb over a photograph, or admire the relics on the wall. Because of the hunt, I will forever be connected to this place, to this animal, and to the hunters who passed here before me. To match wits with a creature that is determined to defeat me at all costs in the most inhospitable terrain and conditions imaginable is a fundamental victory - not a victory of death, but a sacred accomplishment of living my life as a hunter. Is this memory a trophy for me? You're damn right it is.
